In his youth Frank visited many famous clubs in Liverpool. In the autumn of 1961 he visited the Cavern Club all night session. The Beatles with original drummer Pete Best were top of the bill, supported by Gerry and the Pacemakers, the Remo Four and a jazz band. Colin Manley, lead guitarist with the Remo Four was said to be Paul McCartney's favourite guitarist on the Liverpool scene at the time. Frank also regularly saw the The Swinging Bluejeans at the Downbeat Club. Colin Manley later joined the Swinging Bluejeans and became customers of Frailers.
